Betty Lou Cantrell Taylor departed this life June 17, 1998 at 9:40am at Hendersonville Hospital. She
was born February 3, 1932 to Miss Lou Emma Tatum and Mr. Leroy Blinkley Cantrell who preceded her in
death. She was married to Jessie J.Taylor on June 22, 1950. She was the mother of nine children. One
son Joe L. Taylor preceded her in death.
She obeyed the gospel at Nineteen Avenue Church of Christ in 1953. She was a faithful member as long
as her health permitted,teaching Sunday school for several years. She loved singing and her request
was for Bro. Harold Jones to lead Mansion,Robe and a Crown, Bro. Eugene Ellis to lead Trouble in My
Way, Bro. Lewis Dowlen Jr. to lead the Last Mile of the Way, and Bro. Warren Bullard to lead Hold to
God's Unchanging Hand.
Her survivors are a devoted husband of 49 years, Jessie J.Taylor, children: Eva M. (Norvell)Harris,
Bobby L. Taylor, Timothy Taylor, Patrick O.(Vickie)Taylor, Ronnie & Donnie Taylor, Eugene Taylor and
Maurice Taylor(and friend Jackie Utley)sisters: Mrs.Mable Shannon and Ms.Claudine McKissack, Both of
Cleveland, Ohio, uncle James Cantrell,aunt Bonita Cantrell, 19 grandchildren,14 great grandchildren,
one great,great grandchildren, sister in law, Emma(Harvey)Pitt, and a host of nieces and nephews and
friends and devoted niece, Odessa Dowlen.
The promise
god promised us eternal life,to all who would believe,
and betty you have entered into gods promise,
the way the truth the life,
your walking on streets of gold,and can see the saints of old,
like paul and joshua and peter and john,his faithful servants who he relied on,
just like you it just takes faith,to believe in him,who
gave us jesus,his only precious son,
that would believe in the lord jesus christ,
would live forever and would never die.
